OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Top-seeded Stevenson University shrugged off a slow first set to down No. 4 seed Lycoming College 3-1 in the semifinals of the 2019 MAC Commonwealth Women's Volleyball Championship Wednesday night at Owings Mills Gymnasium. Set scores were 23-25, 25-16, 25-14, 25-21.
- Lycoming (18-13) used a 7-1 run to build a 13-7 lead following a Mustang setting error.
- Stevenson (28-2) countered with a 5-1 spurt of its own, pulling within 14-12 after a Warrior attack error.
- The Mustangs took a 21-20 lead on a kill by Haley Hoover.
- After the hosts went up one, 23-22, on a kill by Katie Leftridge, Lycoming scored the final three points to take the first set.
- A 6-1 spurt capped by a Leftridge service ace put the Mustangs up 8-3 early.
- Stevenson increased its lead to 14-7 after a kill by senior setter Caroline Dangel.
- Down 19-9, Lycoming chipped away and got within six, 22-16, before the Mustangs scored the final three points of the set to tie things 1-1.
- A block by Victoria Prokic and Mackenzie Blevins, followed by a Prokic kill, closed out the frame.
- Stevenson scored the first four points of the set and led 10-2 following a Warrior attack error.
- Leading 13-6, the Mustangs scored three in a row and a Dangel service ace made the set 16-6.
- Lycoming cut the lead to five, 18-13, before five straight Mustang points capped by a Lycoming attack error extended the lead back to 10.
- A Hoover kill and another attack error by the guests ended the set.

- Lycoming had an attack error to make it 24-21, then a service ace by Leftridge ended the match.
- Stevenson hit .311 for the match, while the Warriors hit .187 as a team.
- Leftridge totaled 17 kills and seven digs and moved within four digs of 1,000 for her career.
- Gest hit .542 and finished with a career-best 15 kills.
- Blevins and Prokic finished with six kills apiece, with Prokic also recording four blocks.
- Blevins also contributed four service aces, six digs and four blocks.
- Julie Nightwine finished with 22 assists, including the 2,000th of her career.
- Dangel also recorded 22 assists and added five kills.
- Hoover notched five blocks and five kills.
- Kayla Vaeth recorded 14 digs, while Darian Hileman added 12.
- Stevenson improved to 15-0 all-time in MAC Commonwealth tournament play and 81-0 all-time including regular season MAC Commonwealth competition.
- The Mustangs improved to 14-1 at home this season.
- Stevenson will host second-seeded Arcadia in the MAC Commonwealth championship match Saturday at 7 pm at Owings Mills Gymnasium.
