Skove, Waskiewicz Lead Mustangs to 7-2 Win Over Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - Sophomore Jenna Skove and freshman Megan Waskiewicz won in both doubles and singles play in leading the Stevenson women's tennis team to a 7-2 victory over non-conference opponent Shenandoah.

The Mustangs started the day by sweeping the doubles matches for the second time in as many days. Skove and sophomore Kelsi Mentzer dominated their No. 1 match, winning by an 8-2 score. The win improves their record to 10-8. 

Junior Kirstyn Davidson and Waskiewicz shutout their No. 2 opponents by an 8-0 score, to move their record to the .500 mark (4-4). Freshmen Taelor Brown and Rebecca Connelly won their second-straight match in an 8-3 triumph in No. 3. 

Skove picked up her fifth win of the year in No. 1 singles by a 6-3, 6-2 score. Waskiewicz improved to 9-6 on the year after taking her No. 3 match, 6-1, 6-1. 

Junior Christina Endy won her No. 4 match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, while freshman Esha Kashmiri won her second match of the season, 6-3, 6-1. 

The Mustangs (6-7, 3-1 MAC) host Hood in a MAC Commwealth matchup on Tuesday, April 17 at 3:00 pm.
