GLENSIDE, Pa. - Stevenson men's soccer sophomore Owen Mostoller netted his first career goal, scoring in the 83rd minute to give the Mustangs a 1-0 MAC Commonwealth victory over Arcadia and a berth in the upcoming playoffs Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
- The Mustangs (11-5-3, 4-3-1 MAC Commonwealth) recorded the first three shots of the contest, with junior Tariq Lee putting two on frame.
- Lee's first shot was saved by an Arcadia defender before his second was saved by goalkeeper Jake Varrato.
- The Knights (9-8-2, 4-2-2 MAC Commonwealth) recorded their first shot of the game in the 32nd minute but it was saved by freshman Chris Gonzales.
- Arcadia had the first corner kick of the game on the ensuing play but could not get a shot off.
- Freshman Kristian Slaby made his first save of the game in the 39th minute before classmate Declan Marvel had a shot on goal down the other end.
- Following a corner kick, Ayo Adenegan had his header hit off the crossbar for the Knights in the 53rd minute.
- In the 62nd minute, senior DR Medtart put a shot on target following a corner kick by sophomore Diego Guerrero.
- Mostoller fired a shot on net in the 79th minute before the rebound attempt by junior Jay Smith went wide.
- With 7:33 remaining in regulation, Mostoller put the Mustangs on the board off an assist by Guerrero.
- The Knights had one final shot attempt, a header by Logan Stafford that was blocked.
- Stevenson outshot Arcadia, 11-6, including, 7-3, in the second half.
- The Mustangs also had a 7-2 edge in corner kicks, including 6-1 in the second half.
- Slaby needed to make just one save in his first career start.
- Stevenson will either be the No. 4 or No. 5 seed in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth playoffs, depending the outcome in the two later games.
- The Mustangs will play in the play-in game on Monday, November 4. Game time and location to be announced.
