Witherow Leads Mustang Women at Baltimore Metro

HUNT VALLEY, Md. - Senior Brooke Witherow (Berlin/Stephen Decatur), one of four returners for the Stevenson women's cross country team this season, led three Mustang competitors on Friday as they opened the season in the Baltimore Metro Invitational at Oregon Ridge Park.
Witherow was the top finisher for Stevenson, placing 68th in a time of 24:19.15. Freshman Austin White (Bel Air/C. Milton Wright) made her collegiate debut, finishing 74th in a time of 24:51.65 while junior Lauren Redding (Bel Air/C. Milton Wright), who appeared in seven of the team's eight races last season, placed 82nd with a time of 26:38.76.
Johns Hopkins placed won the team title after placing seven runners in the top eight. The Blue Jays totaled 17 points, 29 ahead of second-place Towson. Johns Hopkins' Lauren Paulsen won her fourth consecutive individual championship with a time of 18:27.15.
Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, September 12 at the Green Terror Challenge hosted by McDaniel at Westminster High School.
