DOVER, Del. - Stevenson women's soccer sophomore Stephanie Eyler (Thurmont/Catoctin) scored both goals, extending her team-leading total to 12 this season, as the Mustangs won its season-high sixth consecutive game with a 2-0 CAC road victory at Wesley Friday night at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

The six-game winning streak is the longest for Stevenson (10-3-1, 5-1 CAC) since the team won eight in-a-row from September 21 to October 14, 2006. That year, the team finished with a school record 15 wins and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

The Mustangs, ranked 10th in the latest NSCAA South Atlantic Region poll, have won six of their seven games since achieving the school's first-ever ranking on September 22.

Eyler, who posted her eighth career multi-goal game, has scored a goal in four-straight games. Friday was also her fourth game this season in which she has scored the game-winning goal.

Eyler broke open a scoreless game in the 35th minute off an assist from sophomore Julie Dempsey (Waldorf/West Lake) who picked up her first point of the season and first since she scored a goal in an 8-0 win over Notre Dame (Md.) on Sept. 2, 2008 in the team's third game.

Eyler would add her second goal in the 58th minute to highlight a dominating second half for the Mustangs as they held a 14-6 edge in shots and forced Wolverine keeper Sydney Kahan to total 10 of her 12 saves.

Freshman Lauren Weitzman (Westminster/Winters Mill) made six saves in her sixth start to earn her sixth victory.

Stevenson will have four days to prepare for a first-place showdown in the CAC with York (Pa.) next Wednesday at Caves Athletics Complex. The Spartans currently lead the Mustangs by a half-game in the conference standings. Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
