With 19 years of collegiate women's lacrosse and field hockey coaching experience, Railey begins her 11th year as a head women's lacrosse coach in 2010, including her fifth at Stevenson where she also serves as an associate athletics director, senior woman's administrator and head field hockey coach.

In 10 seasons, Railey has totaled a career record of 98-70 and is currently the 24th active winningest coach in Division III with a .583 winning percentage. She is 34-31 in four years with the Mustangs which includes a school record 12 wins in 2008 when the team finished 12-5.

In 2009, Stevenson posted its second-straight 10-win season for the first time since 1998 as it finished 10-7 after winning seven of the last 10 games. Following a 2-1 start, the Mustangs receiving votes in the IWLCA/Under Armour Division III Weekly Poll for the first time in school history on March 4.

Stevenson finished the 2008 season with seven wins in their last eight games and received the program's first-ever regional ranking when the Mustangs were ranked fifth in the final NCAA South Region poll of the season.

Railey led the Mustangs to six wins in each of her first two seasons after taking over in 2006 following the team's second consecutive one-win season.

In 12 seasons as a head field hockey coach, including three at Stevenson, Railey has totaled 79 wins. In 2008, she led the Mustangs to a school record 10 wins and an appearance in the semifinals of the CAC Field Hockey Championship.

A native of Baltimore and a 1987 graduate of Loch Raven High School, Railey returned to her hometown following six very successful seasons at Eastern Connecticut State University from 2000-05. During that time, she led the Warriors to 64 wins, a Little East Conference championship in 2005 and an ECAC Division III New England Region Championship in 2002.

Railey was named Little East Conference Coach of the Year in 2005 while leading Eastern to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship before losing to eventual national champion Salisbury. The winningest coach in the history of the women's lacrosse team, she also guided the Warriors to the title game of the ECAC New England Region Championship in 2003 and 2004 as well as the Little East Conference tournament in 2002 and 2003.

Railey led ECSU to a spot in the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance playoffs in her first season in 2000 before leading the Warriors to a share of the South division regular season title and its first playoff win since 1998.

Railey is also the winningest coach in the history of the field hockey team at Eastern, totaling 39 wins from 2000-05, including a school record 11 wins in 2001. In three seasons at Stevenson from 2007-09, she has totaled 21 wins with three consective CAC tournament appearances.

Prior to Eastern Connecticut, Railey was the head field hockey coach at Goucher for two seasons in 1998 and 1999 after spending three years at Mount Carmel High School as the director of physical education.

During that time, Railey was the head field hockey coach and assistant girls' lacrosse coach at Loch Raven as well where she was a part of two state semifinalists in lacrosse and one in field hockey.

From 1991-93, Railey was an assistant women's lacrosse and field hockey coach for three seasons at McDaniel before serving as the head field hockey coach in 1993 and 1994.

A 1991 graduate of Gettysburg with a bachelor of arts degree in economics, Railey was a four-year letterwinner and team captain in both field hockey and lacrosse for the Bullets from 1987-91. She later received a master's degree in liberal arts with a concentration in physical education from McDaniel in 1993.

Inducted into the US Lacrosse/Greater Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame in 2007, Railey is a member of the United States Lacrosse Association, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association, National Field Hockey Coaches Association and United State Field Hockey Association.

A member of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Rules Committee since 2005, Railey currently serves as the chairperson for women's lacrosse in the CAC after having served on the NCAA Division III Regional Advisory Committee for both women's lacrosse and field hockey and as a member of the IWLCA All-American Committee for women's lacrosse.

 


Erika Blozie

Blozie brings five years of collegiate coaching experience to Stevenson where she begins her second season with the Mustangs in 2010 and her second stint as an assistant under her former college head coach, Kathy Railey.

In addition to serving as an assistant women's lacrosse coach, Blozie is also an assistant under Railey in field hockey and serves as the director of Stevenson's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

From 2001-04, Blozie played four seasons as a goalie under Railey at Eastern Connecticut State where she still holds six of the seven career records for goalies including games, wins, saves and goals against average. As a member of the Warriors, she started all 71 of the team's games during her career, totaling 46 wins, 708 saves and an 8.47 goal against average.

A two-time IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-New England Region Second Team selection, Blozie was selected to the IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game and was named to the IWLCA Academic Squad in 2004. She was also a two-time All-Little East Conference selection, earning first team honors in 2002.

As a sophomore in 2002, Blozie led the Warriors to the ECAC Division III New England Region tournament, the first of three-straight appearances, where she earned Most Valuable Player honors after winning a posting a school record 15 games, 185 saves and a 7.67 goals against average, the second-best in team history in 1,158 minutes, two shy of the school record.

A team captain under Railey in 2003 and 2004, Blozie also won a NEWLA South Division regular season title as a freshman in 2001 and spent three years as a member of SAAC from 2002-04.

After graduating from Eastern in 2005 with a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education, Blozie spent three seasons as an assistant with the Warriors from 2005-07 while earning her master of science degree in allied health from Connecticut in 2007. During that time, Eastern Connecticut State won two Little East Conference championships in 2005 and 2007 and advanced to the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship both years.

In 2007, Blozie served as an admissions assistant at the Bradford School in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before serving as the assistant women's lacrosse coach at Bowdoin in Brunswick, Maine in 2008.

 


Shannon Burke

A former All-American at Notre Dame, Burke joins Stevenson for her first season as an assistant women's lacrosse coach in 2010, working with the team as a defensive specialist.

A four-year letterwinner, team captain and 2003 all-state honorable mention selection in field hockey at Roland Park Country School where she helped the Red Chili Peppers win conference championships in 2002 and 2004, Burke will also assist with the Mustangs' field hockey team.

A 2009 graduate of Notre Dame with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology, Burke became the fifth player in school history and first defender to earn IWLCA/US Lacrosse First Team All-America honors as a senior. She was also selected to the IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game.

Burke was named the team's top defender after totaling a school record 44 caused turnovers to go along with a career and team-high 60 ground balls as the Irish won a school record 16 games, captured the team's first-ever BIG EAST title and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship. Notre Dame also finished the year ranked at No. 6, its highest-ever national ranking.

A two-time All-BIG EAST and All-West/Midwest All-Region selection, Burke finished her career second on Notre Dame's all-time caused turnovers list with 106, just one shy of the school record, in 70 games, 57 of which were starts. She is also third with 139 ground balls and 124 draw controls. During her four seasons, the Irish went 54-22 and participated in three NCAA tournaments.

Burke is a native of Timonium and 2005 graduate of Roland Park Country School where she was a three-sport standout in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She earned all-metro and all-state honors as a junior and senior in addition to being named player of the year by the Baltimore Messenger.

 


Jennifer Breakey

Breakey returns for her third season as an assistant with the Stevenson women's lacrosse team in 2010 after joining the team as a volunteer assistant under former high school teammate Kathy Railey in 2008.

A 1988 graduate of Loch Raven High School, Breakey attended Franklin & Marshall where she totaled 92 goals, 30 assists and 122 points in just two seasons in 1989 and 1990. She is still ranked 25th in school history in goals, 27th in points and 34th in assists.

After winning a Middle Atlantic Conference championship as a freshman, Breakey scored 61 goals as a sophomore which ranks seventh on the school's all-time list for a single-season, while adding 20 assists for a total of 81 points to rank 12th in school history.

Following her two seasons with the Diplomats where she was a two-time All-American, Breakey transferred to Division I Towson for her final two seasons in 1992 and 1993. In two years with the Tigers, she totaled 78 goals, 25 assists and 102 points which ranks 13th on the school's career list.

As a team captain in 1993, Breakey totaled 52 points and 40 goals and was selected as a Third Team All-American on defense.

Breakey also played field hockey at both schools before graduating from Towson in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree in psychology. She was inducted in to the Towson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.

In 1994, Breakey was a member of the US Lacrosse team as a midfielder and defender. She returned to Towson in 1996 and spent two seasons as the assistant women's lacrosse coach in 1996 and 1997.

Breakey, who also owns a bachelor of science degree in nursing, recently completed her master's degree in public health at Johns Hopkins.

 


Cat Connelly

Connelly returns for her second season on the women's lacrosse coaching staff in 2010 following a stellar playing career as a two-sport athlete at Stevenson in both field hockey and women's lacrosse.

In four seasons on the women's lacrosse team from 2005-08, Connelly was a four-year starter and team captain, appearing in 59 games, the fourth-highest total in school history. She ranks fifth all-time with 141 points, ranking fifth with 42 assists and seventh with 99 goals.

Connelly also ranks ninth in school history with 39 draw controls and led the team in assists as a sophomore and junior.

In field hockey, Connelly appeared in 73 of the team's 75 games with 71 starts while totaling 27 points on five goals and 17 assists. She was a two-time All-CAC selection and as a senior in 2008, received All-CAC and NFHCA All-South Region First Team honors after leading the CAC in assists with 11 as Stevenson totaled a school record 10 wins and advanced to the CAC semifinals.

Connelly graduated in December 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in biology and a 3.94 grade point average. She was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Women's At-Large First Team and NFHCA Academic Squadin 2009.

In addition to her work at Stevenson, Connelly also serves as an assistant coach with the field hockey team at her alma mater, Fallston High School, where the Cougars were UCBAC and Maryland 2A State Champions in 2009.

 


Mandi Carr

Carr joins the women's lacrosse coaching staff for her first season in 2010 following a stellar four-year playing career at Stevenson.

A 2009 graduate with a bachelors degree in chemistry, Carr appeared in 61 career games from 2006-09, the second most in school history, and holds the school's career records with 175 draw controls and 166 ground balls. She also ranks ninth with 44 caused turnovers.

In addition, Carr holds the top two single-season totals for draw controls with 56 in 2009 and 55 in 2008 while owning four of the top 10 records. On Apr. 16, 2008, she set the single-game record for draw controls with nine in a 23-6 victory over Susquehanna at home.

As a senior in 2009, Carr was named the team's Most Valuable Player and received the school's Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year award after leading the team with 56 draw controls and 44 ground balls while totaling 21 points on 16 goals and five assists.

Carr also had 91 career points on 66 goals and 25 assists.

 


Sandy Okun

Okun, a former two-sport athlete at Goucher, joins the women's lacrosse team as a volunteer assistant in 2010 where she will assist with the team's offense.

Okun graduated cum laude from Goucher in 2009 with a bachelor of arts degree in music after four seasons on the Gopher women's lacrosse team and four on the women's swimming team.

A four-time conference academic honoree and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selection, Okun was a four-year starter on attack for the Gophers where she totaled 80 points on 74 goals and six assists from 2006-09. Three of her goals were game-winners.

Okun appeared in 59 games with 54 starts while totaling 44 ground balls, 13 draw controls and seven caused turnovers.

In the pool, Okun helped the Gophers' 400-meter freestyle relay team to a third place finish at the 2009 Landmark Conference Swimming Championships while advancing to the consolation finals in the 100 and 200 free.

Prior to Goucher, Okun was a three-sport standout at McDonogh High School where she competed in volleyball, swimming and lacrosse.
