In the pool, Okun helped the Gophers' 400-meter freestyle relay team to a third place finish at the 2009 Landmark Conference Swimming Championships while advancing to the consolation finals in the 100 and 200 free.

Prior to Goucher, Okun was a three-sport standout at McDonogh High School where she competed in volleyball, swimming and lacrosse.
