Winter Weather Postpones Basketball Games to Thursday

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Winter weather across the region has forced the postponement of tonight's CAC basketball doubleheader between Stevenson and St. Mary's (Md.) at ARC Arena until Thursday. The women's game will be at 6:00 p.m., tomorrow night, followed by the men's game at 8:00 p.m.
The Mustang women (4-13, 2-6 CAC) are hoping for their second CAC road win in five games this season. On Saturday, Stevenson dropped a 66-47 to No. 19 Mary Washington at home. Senior Tara Galvin (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) finished with 16 points to mark her seventh consecutive game in double figures.
Galvin has scored in double figures in each of her last seven games, averaging 14.9 points per game during that time, six points above her season average, while totaling 22 three-pointers. The Mustangs have totaled three of their four wins over that seven-game span.
On December 3, St. Mary's handed Stevenson a 56-45 loss at home in which freshman guard Qiana Coleman (Ellicott City/Mount Hebron) led Stevenson with eight points and two steals.
Allie Scott totaled 12 points and 14 rebounds, both game-highs, for the Seahawks while Megan Seeman added 13 points and Tiara Hurte had nine points and eight rebounds.
The Mustang men (4-13, 3-5 CAC) are looking for their second win in the last three games and third CAC road win out of the last five. Mary Washington used a strong inside advantage to key a strong second half, outscoring Stevenson 40-18 in points in the paint en route to a 73-54 victory on Saturday.
Junior guard Greg Woody (Baltimore/Mount Saint Joseph) totaled a team-high 16 points for the Mustangs, marking the 12th time in 17 games this season he has led the team in scoring, including eighth out of the last 10. Senior forward Ely Richardson (Hartford, Conn./Suffield Academy) finished the game with nine points and a team-high six rebounds.
In the last meeting between the two teams, senior guard Chaise Lancaster (Bowie/Northwestern) scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures as the Mustangs nearly upset then-No. 18 St. Mary's (Md.) before falling 80-71 on December 3.
Alex Franz had 12 first half points en route to a game-high 18 to go along with a game-high 11 rebounds for the Seahawks while Camontae Griffin totaled 14 points to help the team 22 turnovers.
