Lisa Bilski Named 2009 CAC Softball Rookie of the Year

YORK, Pa. - For the second-straight season, the Stevenson University softball team has had the top newcomer in the conference as freshman Lisa Bilski (Forest Hill/Fallston) was named the 2009 CAC Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.
Last season, Bilksi's high school and current teammate, sophomore Jessica Bandwolek (Fallston/Fallston), earned the league's top first year honor.
Bilski leads the Mustangs with a .378 average, which is also 10th-best in the CAC, while ranking tops on the team in hits, triples, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. She has started 31 of the team's 32 games and is third in runs scored.
Bilski also leads the team with nine multiple-hit games and totaled a team, season-best nine-game hitting streak from March 17 to April 2. During that time, she hit .483, going 14-for-29 with 13 RBIs and nine runs.
In game one of a doubleheader against Notre Dame (Md.) on March 24, Bilski went 3-for-4 with three runs and six RBIs.
Stevenson concludes its 2009 home schedule on Saturday when it hosts a non-conference doubleheader with Wilson beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Weinberg-Fine Stadium.
