WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Stevenson University men's cross country junior Josh Michael (Baltimore/Patapsco) ran his second-fastest 8K time of the season on Saturday as he was the second Mustang to cross the finish line and placed 24th on Saturday at the Hood College Open Meet held at Heritage Park.

Michael finished the race in a time of 29:37.65 which was just six seconds off his season-best pace of 29:31 set at the Don Cathcart Invitational.

Michael was one of three competitors from Stevenson who competed in their largest field of the year at 123 runners.

Freshman Avior Zynda (Woodbine/Century) was the Mustangs' top finisher for the second consecutive race, placing 16th in a time of 28:44.37, almost identical to his time of 28:44.39 from last week's Goucher Classic.

Freshman Patrick Cristaldi (Laurel/Atholton) finished 36th in a time of 30:09.67.

Stevenson will have three weeks to prepare for the 2009 CAC Cross Country Championships which will also be held at Heritage Park on Saturday, November 7.
