Zynda Posts Second-Straight Top-10 Finish at Goucher

TOWSON, Md. - Stevenson men's cross country freshman Avior Zynda (Woodbine/Century) posted his second consecutive top-10 finish while being the first Mustang to cross the finish line for the second time in the last three races to lead the team at the Goucher Classic on Saturday.
Zynda finished the 8K course in a time of 28:44.39 for his second fastest time of the season. His season-best is 27:42 set at the Don Cathcart Invitational on September 26. His other top-10 finish came last week at the Goldey Beacom Invitational where he came in sixth.
Meanwhile, freshman Patrick Cristaldi (Laurel/Atholton) totaled his fourth top-20 finish in six races this season as he placed 15th with a time of 29:14.68.
Junior Josh Michael (Baltimore/Patapsco) had his second-best finish this year, placing 26th in a time of 30:57.18. His best finish came last week at Goldey Beacom where he was 14th.
Stevenson travels to Heritage Park in Walkersville next week, site of the 2009 CAC Cross Country Championships, for the Hood College Open Meet.
