Mustang Men Place Three in Top-15 at Goldey Beacom

WILMINGTON, Del. - The Stevenson men's cross country team placed all three of its runners in the top-15, led by freshman Patrick Cristaldi (Laurel/Atholton) who finished fourth, as the Mustangs had their best performance of the 2009 season on Saturday at the Goldey Beacom Invitational.

Cristaldi was the first Mustang to cross the finish line for the fourth time in five races this season as he completed the 8K course in a time of 30:09. His fourth-place finish out of 57 runners was the best of the season for Stevenson and his second in the top-10.

Freshman Avior Zynda (Woodbine/Century) also placed in the top-10 as he came in sixth with a time of 30:51, just one second behind Bloomfield's William Walsh for fifth. It was Zynda's first career top-10 finish.

Junior Josh Michael (Baltimore/Patapsco) also had a top-15 finish as he finished 14th for his best finish since coming to Stevenson this year. He crossed the line in a time of 32:24.

Stevenson travels to Towson on Saturday to compete in the Goucher Classic.
