Zynda Leads Men's Cross Country at Cathcart Invitational

SALISBURY, Md. - Three different Mustangs each posted season bests, led by freshman Avior Zynda (Woodbine/Century) who was the first Mustang to cross the finish line to lead the Stevenson men's cross country team at the Don Cathcart Invitational Saturday at Salisbury's Winter Place Park.

Zynda finished the 8K course in a time of 27:42 to place 45th which was over a minute and a half faster than his previous best set last week at the York Spartan Invitational.

Finishing just 14 seconds behind Zynda was freshman Patrick Cristaldi (Laurel/Atholton) who crossed the line 51st in a time of 27:56. Last week, he finished seventh at York in a time of 28:48.70.

Junior Josh Michael (Baltimore/Patapsco) had the biggest improvement on Saturday as he shaved almost three minutes off of his time set at York in finishing 75th with a time of 29:31.

Stevenson will travel to Wilmington, Delaware next Saturday for the Goldey Beacom Invitational.
