Men's Cross Country Opens Season at Baltimore Metro

HUNT VALLEY, Md. - The new look Stevenson men's cross country team, with a new head coach and three new runners, opened its season at the Baltimore Metro Invitational on Friday at Oregon Ridge Park.

With just two runners competing, the Mustangs did not garner a team score, but freshman Patrick Cristaldi (Laurel/Atholton) and junior Josh Michael (Baltimore/Patapsco), a transfer from York (Pa.), made their Stevenson debuts, finishing 35th and 58th, respectively.

Cristaldi finished 35th in 17:44.03 while Michael, who competed in four races for York (Pa.) in 2007, finished 58th in a time of 20:18.95.

Johns Hopkins won the team title, placing four runners in the top six spots, finishing 32 points ahead of Morgan State. Morgan State's Justus David won the individual title with a time of 16:05.04.

Stevenson returns to action on Saturday, September 12 at the Green Terror Challenge hosted by McDaniel at Westminster High School.
