The sixth head coach in school history, Plevyak enters his third season as the head men's soccer coach at Stevenson in 2009.
Plevyak has totaled 15 wins in his first two seasons with the Mustangs, including a 7-9-2 record a year ago and a sixth place finish in the CAC. The team ended the year with three-straight conference victories over Hood, Wesley and Gallaudet and were unbeaten in five of its last eight.
The winningest head coach in the history of the men's soccer program at McDaniel, Plevyak came to Stevenson in 2007 where he led the team to an 8-10-1 record. The Mustangs went 4-4 in their first season in the CAC and advanced to the conference semifinals as the No. 6-seed.
At McDaniel, Plevyak holds the record for most wins in the men's soccer program's 82-year history with an overall record of 116-110-19. He also ranks fifth on the Centennial Conference's all-time wins list and is fourth in conference victories with 42.
In five of his last seven seasons from 2000-06, Plevyak's teams finished in the top 10 in the 82-team Mid-Atlantic Region. He led the Green Terror to 79 wins during that time, the most over any seven-year period in team history.
Plevyak coached 37 players who were selected to the All-Centennial Conference team, two of which who were named Player of the Year. Three of his players also earned awards outside of the playing field on the NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team, a squad that encompasses all three NCAA divisions.
Throughout the first 70 years prior to Plevyak's arrival at McDaniel, only two teams had totaled double-digit wins in a single season, a feat that he achieved in five of his last seven seasons as head coach. The Green Terror won a school record 15 games in 2003 and 14 in both 2001 and 2005. They also won 11 in 2004.
From 2003-05, McDaniel totaled a 40-17-6 record with 30 of those 40 victories coming by shutout. In 2005, Plevyak led the Green Terror to the Centennial Conference regular season title where they allowed just two goals in nine conference games.
A Baltimore native, Plevyak began his coaching career at his alma mater Mount Saint Joseph High School. He led the Gaels to an 81-22-10 record and two MIAA championships during his eight seasons.
After Mount Saint Joseph, Plevyak stepped away from coaching and entered the business world for 11 years before taking over at McDaniel in 1994.
Plevyak is a 1977 graduate of the University of Baltimore with a degree in criminal justice. He currently lives in Finksburg with his wife, Dana, and their two children, Lindsey and Jonathan.
