YORK, Pa. - Stevenson men's soccer junior Tyler King (Parkville/Calvert Hall) received his first career honor on Monday when he was named CAC Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Mary Washington freshman Duke Mensah-Abrampah.
King is the second Mustang to receive the award this season and the second in as many weeks, joining freshman Ansger Otto (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) who received the award on October 26.
King totaled three goals and one assist in two games last week as Stevenson extended its win streak to six. After posting a goal an an assist in a 7-1 victory at Gallaudet on Tuesday, he scored two of the team's three goals, including the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over Wesley at home in the first round of the CAC Men's Soccer Championship.
King has scored at least one point in four-straight games and has scored all of his 13 points with four goals and five assists over the last six.
Meanwhile, Mensah-Abrampah scored both goals in the Eagles' 2-1 overtime victory against Marymount (Va.) in the first round on Saturday. He tied the game at 1-1 in the 83rd minute before scoring the game-winner 3:23 into the second overtime to lift Mary Washington into the semifinals with his seventh goal of the season.
