Stevenson University Raises Money For Brittany Perkey

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University community continues to support one of its own as the third annual Mustang Fest was held on Friday, January 30 to help raise money for student Brittany Perkey, who was injured in a car accident last April along with men's lacrosse sophomore Cory Baldwin.
Mustang Fest featured a battle of the bands in the Rockland Center banquet room on the Owings Mills campus in which spectators were charged $5 for admission with a Stevenson ID and $8 without.
There were six featured bands including headliner Jupiter One, a Warner Brothers group whose music has been featured in EA Sports titles Madden 08, NHL 08, FIFA 08 and most recently, Burnout Paradise.
The competing bands included Olyver James (myspace.com/olyverjames), Cave of Swans (myspace.com/caveofswans), Charm City Fire, Natural Remedy (myspace.com/naturalremedy) and The Spark and The Light (myspace.com/thesparkandthelight).
A year ago, the men's lacrosse team went pink in its game against Stevens Tech on May 2, 2007 in support of Baldwin and Perkey. The team dyed their stick heads pink and the coaching staff and fans wore pink shirts as the Mustangs won their season finale 15-12 at home.
