Matt Lukehart Named CAC Golf Athlete of the Week

YORK, Pa. - Stevenson University men's golf junior Matt Lukehart (Bel Air/Mt. Carmel) was named CAC Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday in the first weekly award handed by the conference this season.

The third Mustang to be honored as a player of the week by the CAC in three selections this season, Lukehart joins women's volleyball senior Alana Eller (Ellicott City/Centennial) and women's soccer freshman Stephanie Eyler (Thurmont/Catoctin).

Lukehart shot an even-par 72 to win low medalist honors by five strokes at the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational on September 8 in the first match of the season for the Mustangs. He topped a field of 56 players from nine teams to capture the individual title at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club.

A year ago, Lukehart finished fourth at the first-ever CAC Golf Championships to earn All-CAC First Team honors. He returns as Stevenson's lowest average golfer after averaging an 80.7 over 15 rounds last season.

The next match for the Mustangs will be Thursday when they host Hood at Piney Branch Country Club.
