Dance Team Tryout Dates Announced

DANCE TEAM TRY-OUTS

Date: Sunday, September 9, 2007
Time: 9:30am- 4pm
Where: VJC Stevenson Gym

Being on this team is a great way to meet new people and express your love
for dance. VJC's dance team performs Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical routines
throughout the season. We practice three times a week in the evening to make
it convienent for class schedules!  We also dance at local and national
competitions (Disney World, Florida), school activities such as sporting
events, Villa Fest (Midnight Madness), Baltimore BLAST half-time shows and
other appearances. Our main season this year will be from September to
January and our nontraditional season will run from February to April.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
We are looking for dancers that can learn chorography quickly, has stage
presentation and a great personality.
Experience should include doing basic to complex moves; single to multiple
turns; and various leaps and jumps.

PLEASE BRING:
Tight fitting attire with dance shoes or sneakers that you can move in.

IMPORTANT:
All medical forms and a copy of insurance cards MUST be turned into school
before tryout date.  Also, all student-athletes are required to attend a
Screening on Aug 15, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. Please wear shorts and tee shirt to
the screening. Someone will be there to give free physicals! So please fill
out the necessary paperwork before hand (link below).  Any member that does
not or can not attend the screening WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DANCE OTHERWISE.
This is school policy. You will need to contact an athletic training staff
to discuss the situation of missing the screening.
