Title: Recruiting Coordinator
Alma Mater: N.C. Wesleyan '07
Chris Masters begins his first season at Stevenson in 2009, serving as the team's recruiting coordinator. He will be responsible for recruiting activities, official visits and outfield defense.
A 2007 graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan, Masters played four years for the Battling Bishops from 2004-07 while earning a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. At Wesleyan, he was a member of the 2006 NCAA Division III South Region championship team that finished the year 31-17 and advanced to the Division III World Series.
During Masters' career, he helped the Battling Bishops win a USA South tournament title, a regular season conference championship and an NCAA regional championship. Throughout his playing career, Masters has appeared in seven World Series, four of them as a player and three as a coach.
Prior to N.C. Wesleyan, Masters was a standout at Howard High School where he was a four-year starting catcher and was an all-county performer and team captain as a senior.
Masters, who is currently working on becoming a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is an assistant strength and conditioning coach with Athletic Performance, Inc., in Millersville, Maryland.
In addition to his work at Stevenson, Masters is also on the coaching staff of the Columbia Reds of the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League, an elite wood bat summer league team for whom he once played for.
