Mark Chiveral begins his 10th year as assistant coach at Stevenson University, having served as the pitching coach since the start of the Mustang program in 2000. During his tenure, he has developed the pitching staff as a key strength of the team.

In 2006, Chiveral's pitching staff totaled the most wins in school history with 29 while posting a 4.00 ERA. A year later, Stevenson had a 4.01 ERA as a staff in 2007 with freshman and sophomores comprising close to 75 percent of the team's 348.1 innings.

Prior to Stevenson, Chiveral served as an assistant pitching coach at Loyola College (Md.) for seven seasons.

During the summer, Chiveral serves as a player/manager for the Degroen's Baseball Club of the Baltimore Baseball League. A graduate of Patterson High School, he lettered in football and baseball and had a career pitching record of 18 wins and loss.

Chiveral attended CCBC Essex where he was the anchor of the pitching staff for two seasons.

In addition to his coaching duties, Chiveral works in the department of biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University. He and his wife, Suzanne, and daughter Madelyn, reside in Arbutus.
